Employee/Labor Relations Representative – Human Resources
Upstate Medical University is looking for an Employee/Labor Relations Representative to join their dynamic team of expert professionals.
Job Summary: The Employee/Labor Relations Representative supports a positive and productive work environment by administering key components of eight public union collective bargaining agreements and serving as a trusted resource on employee and labor relations matters.
Key Responsibilities:
Administer key provisions of eight public union collective bargaining agreements, including discipline procedures, grievance administration, and contract interpretation.
Advise officers, department chairs, administrators, directors, managers, and supervisors on handling inappropriate conduct, poor work performance, and related workplace issues.
Develop and deliver training programs on a wide range of employee and labor relations topics.
Conduct research and analysis on labor relations issues and prepare data, reports, and recommendations to support management planning and responses to complaints.
Collaborate with union leadership in various settings and help foster positive labor–management relationships.
Perform additional employee and labor relations duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Industrial Labor Relations, Human Resources or related field plus two years of related experience required. Attention to detail, excellent interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills required.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience in an unionized environment, preferably in higher education and/or a hospital or healthcare setting.
