Employee/Labor Relations Representative – Human Resources
Upstate Medical University is looking for an Employee/Labor Relations Representative to join their dynamic team of expert professionals.
Job Summary:
The Employee/Labor Relations Representative supports a positive and productive work environment by administering key components of eight public union collective bargaining agreements and serving as a trusted resource on employee and labor relations matters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer key provisions of eight public union collective bargaining agreements, including discipline procedures, grievance administration, and contract interpretation.
- Advise officers, department chairs, administrators, directors, managers, and supervisors on handling inappropriate conduct, poor work performance, and related workplace issues.
- Develop and deliver training programs on a wide range of employee and labor relations topics.
- Conduct research and analysis on labor relations issues and prepare data, reports, and recommendations to support management planning and responses to complaints.
- Collaborate with union leadership in various settings and help foster positive labor–management relationships.
- Perform additional employee and labor relations duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Industrial Labor Relations, Human Resources or related field plus two years of related experience required. Attention to detail, excellent interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills required.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience in an unionized environment, preferably in higher education and/or a hospital or healthcare setting.
