This is an opportunity for an entrepreneurial L&D professional who wants the flexibility of running their own business while leveraging the reputation, resources, and infrastructure of a nationally recognized Learning & Development staffing and consulting firm.
Many of our Relationship Managers are former corporate learning leaders, instructional design managers, talent development professionals, or previous TrainingPros clients who wanted to build a consulting business without starting from scratch.

- Recruit, interview, assess, and present highly qualified L&D consultants.
- Build lasting relationships with consultants throughout their engagements.
- Conduct weekly consultant interviews and talent assessments.
- Network with learning leaders through professional associations, conferences, and industry events.
- Maintain a strong professional presence on LinkedIn and other social platforms.
- Contribute to thought leadership through blogs, presentations, or industry engagement.
What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking someone who has:
- 7–10+ years of corporate Learning & Development experience.
- Strong business acumen and a consultative approach to solving client challenges.
- Outstanding relationship-building and communication skills.
- Experience interviewing, evaluating, or hiring Learning & Development professionals.
- An entrepreneurial mindset and the ability to work independently.
- Active involvement in ATD or other professional organizations (or a desire to become involved).
- Experience working as a consultant, business owner, or within a smaller, agile organization is a plus.
Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
Why TrainingPros?

As a Relationship Manager, you’ll have access to:
- A nationally recognized brand
- An established ATS/CRM and consultant database
- Recruiting, onboarding, payroll, and invoicing support
- Marketing resources and conference participation
- Sales training, coaching, and mentoring
- Warm business opportunities during your first year, when available
While business development is an important part of this role, this is not a traditional high-volume sales position, and cold calling is not required.
Compensation
This is an independent consulting opportunity.
Year One
- $60,000 annual retainer (paid over 26 pay periods), contingent upon meeting monthly activity expectations
- Additional commission opportunities
Year Two and Beyond
- 100% commission-based compensation
- Unlimited earning potential
Many successful Relationship Managers who consistently grow their client relationships earn more than $200,000 annually.
About the Opportunity
Selected candidates will establish an LLC or S Corporation, execute a Partnership Agreement with TrainingPros, and complete a structured five-week onboarding program designed to prepare them for long-term success.
If you’re ready to combine your passion for Learning & Development with the opportunity to build a thriving consulting business, we’d love to hear from you.
